FLES

Rosemont is proud to have served as the pilot program for our Foreign Language in Elementary School (FLES) program in Dallas ISD. The FLES program offers 90 minutes per week of conversational Spanish connected to a themed curriculum. This program allows for non-native speakers to participate and cultivate a deeper appreciation for being bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural. At Rosemont, all of our general education students participate in the program. Our goal is for students to develop positive attitudes about languages and cultures other than their own and increase cognitive skills and academic abilities that will transfer to overall higher achievement.
